DiiMES 9.1 In Testing

DiiMES 9.01  is now in testing. Some new features of note:

English Version

  • It makes your web application/site load faster!
  • We’ve tidied the code so that it’s even easier for us  to do programming stuff
  • Stuff like e-mail, sms and other services now can be up, even when the main server isn’t!
  • Development cycles are now much quicker!

Geek Version

  • DiiMES Framework is now even faster ( < 150ms startup, < 0 ms core page load time!!! )
  • Refactored code to make it even easer to maintain ( moved everything into a more logical order)
  • Fully implemented new provider objects including redundancy, so if one provider is not available it will failover to the next and the next until all providers are checked before returning failure codes.
  • Reworked the ExtJS generation tags so that they are more flexible, therefore are easier to use.
  • Separated Extjs event logic from display logic so that events are applied to an object rather than being part of it :-)
  • Replaced Evaluations of objects with array/structure-based substitutes (makes the purist developers happier, for no apparent real world gain!)
  • Auto-generation of UI components and CRUD is now a reality

Diimes 9.0 Live

DiiMES (Dawes Int’l Information Management Enterprise Suite) has turned 9!

All of our existing customers using DiiMES will be upgraded to the new version by the end of January. All customers will be contacted to arrange upgrade roll out dates.

What’s new in Version 9?

DiiMES Version 9.0 alpha

Version 9 of our Information Management Enterprise Suite is now in alpha testing.

The first site to be released on the new verison of our platform will be the SU Teams Volunteer Management System that will be put in use in the next few weeks.

ExtJS.tv Version 2.0

The ExtJS community has really embraced this site and now it’s time to ramp the site up a little.

The primary reasons for this are:

  1. The site currently uses jQuery, which is not really a great advertisement of for ExtJS
  2. The functionality of the site is somewhat hampered by the fact that we’re using a generic template.

So we’re rebuilding the whole site to deliver content in a much better way…

SU Team Management Portal

Tommorrow we’re off to a SU advanced leaders training for the first teaser of the new team management portal.

The official training session will be later in the year, however this presentation is to show a few of the great features coming together.

We’re hoping the session will not only be informative, but also a catalyst for great ideas to emerge and new gadgets and features to be added.

SU Team Portal Update

The SU Team Portal is coming along great!! The first alpha version will be available next week after testing!

Two different admin panels will be used for the project, and for both we’ve decided to use ExtJS. Using ExtJS Core 3.0 for the team admin panels where the interface is lot more simple and using ExtJS 3.0 Full for the fully featured, MS Outlook-style interface.
