Diimes 9.0 Live

DiiMES (Dawes Int’l Information Management Enterprise Suite) has turned 9!

All of our existing customers using DiiMES will be upgraded to the new version by the end of January. All customers will be contacted to arrange upgrade roll out dates.

Email Server Updates

We’ve applied an update to our SmarterMail servers today. There’s so many changes, we’ve just pasted them below, the biggest one for us is a fix for the message listing, where when you performed an action, say send some items to the junk mail, then you had to refresh the list before doing another action… this is now fixed Yay!

We’re still hoping for public calendar support and the ability to use alias addresses as your actual sending address (from within webmail – you can do this from your mobile phone or from Outlook, but not from webmail!!!)

  • ADDED: A custom body rules spam check that allows system administrators to create a list of words, wildcards or regular expressions and assign weights to messages based on those rules.

  • FIXED: Upgrading from older versions of SmarterMail 4 to SmarterMail 6 will no longer result in some messages not being visible.
  • FIXED: Users can now delete Exchange ActiveSync relationships from the Synchronization page.
  • FIXED: Using Add to Outlook on a calendar no longer fails if the calendar contains certain yearly recurrence rules.
  • FIXED: Using mark as Spam and Mark as Not Spam twice in a row will no longer fail to perform the action.
  • FIXED: VCards now contain versioning information, preventing warnings in newer Funambol clients.
  • FIXED: When adding a folder, typing an invalid name will no longer cause the OK and Cancel buttons to move off the page.
  • FIXED: When using the check all box in the messages page, the correct count now displays when using the delete action.

DiiMES Version 9.0 alpha

Version 9 of our Information Management Enterprise Suite is now in alpha testing.

The first site to be released on the new verison of our platform will be the SU Teams Volunteer Management System that will be put in use in the next few weeks.

New Mail Server – Up & Running…

Our new mailserver is now up and running. We’ve moved from MailEnable to Smartermail as we’re finding it a much better interface to use and manage, even though it is a little more expensive to have.

We also have new sync features for Outlook and mobile devices as well as great new calendar and task functionality.

Some new features:

We will be moving everyone across (after being notified) to the new server a few at a time to minimise disruption.

ExtJS.tv Almost RTL

We love ExtJS and so we’ve created a website to bring together all the screencasts and video content from around the place into one site.

The site is built using WordPress just for ease of use. I see that this site may eventually see itself returned to the DiiMES platform to give a lot more functionality and allow uses to add their own content, however for now, WordPress is a good start.

Extforge.org Takes Another Step

A prelimiary site has been launched on extforge.org initally as a personal project, however if done right I think this could be a real asset to the extjs community.

The initial version of the extforge.org ux and theme gallery will be released (due to popular oppinion) as a website and then will also be made available as an air application. Drop on over to extforge.org for the latest.
